Obituary for Anna Lee Cousins (Parman)

Anna Lee (Parman) Cousins, 99, Albany, Missouri, formerly of Denver, Missouri peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021, in Albany.

Anna Lee was born March 7, 1922, in rural Gentry County, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Elma (James) Parman.

She attended Hurst country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Grant City High School, with the class of 1940. Anna Lee finished her education at a business school in Kansas City. She continued staying in Kansas City where she worked as a secretary.

On March 9, 1944, Anna Lee married the love of her life, J.R. Cousins. After J.R. was discharged from the Army, they lived in Columbia, Missouri where she worked while J.R. was enrolled in the school of Agriculture at Missouri University. Later, they moved to Platte City, Missouri and Bethany, Missouri where he was an extension agent.

They moved to the family farm where she and J.R. lived and farmed for 46 years. When they retired from the farm in 1996, they moved to Albany where Anna Lee still lived. J.R. preceded her in death in 2001.

Anna Lee was a member of the Methodist Church where she served faithfully assuming multiple roles and responsibilities. As a disciple of Christ, and claiming Him as her Lord and Savior, she extended grace and love to everyone she knew and met.

Anna Lee and her husband were both local volunteers for the area Hospice program.

Others preceding her in death were her parents, an infant brother Max, a beloved daughter Nancy Lee (Cousins) Prather, a beloved son Dr. John Parman Cousins, brother Dr. Russell Parman, sister Gwenetha (Parman) Girling.

Her survivors include daughters, Mary Bess (Bob) Venegoni, Annette (Craig) Holzem,
special niece, Marcia (Zahid) Nana, son-in-law Ken Prather, daughter-in-law Mary Jo Cousins, one brother Dr. Robert Parman, three sisters-in-law Betty Parman, Frankie Parman, and Esther Cousins, 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 6, 2021, from 3-5 PM, at the Andrews-Hann Funeral Home, Grant City, Missouri. The family has requested that social distancing be observed, and face masks be worn.

Graveside Funeral Services and burial will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the Miller Cemetery, Denver, Missouri.

Memorials may be given to the Denver Community Church or the Miller Cemetery.
