Obituary for Patricia "Pat" Fisher (Keeling)

Patricia (Pat) L. Fisher was born on April 25th, 1932 to Jimmy and Aileen Wright Keeling at Craig, MO. Pat passed away at her home in Fairfax on June 4, 2021 at the age of 89.

She graduated from Craig High School in 1950. On June 7, 1950 she was united in marriage to Jim Fisher at the First Presbyterian Church of Fairfax. They became parents of four children; Mike, Mark, Krys, and Kent.

In the 1950’s, Pat was the bookkeeper for the S.J. Peterson Construction Company. Jim and Pat farmed in the 1950’s and 1960’s. They purchased the Fairfax Hardware in 1967 where Pat was the bookkeeper and had a gift shop. For several years Pat was the Secretary of the Fairfax Community Betterment Club and Treasurer of the Fairfax Ministerial Alliance. She was also a member of the 49er’s Club for many years. In 1975, she became an employee of the Community Hospital working as Patient Representative and Social Services Director. Pat retired in 2001. While at Community Hospital she was named Employee of the Year in 1988.

Pat served on the Community Hospital Board for 11 years. She was also a member of the CHA Hospital Development Council and was named Outstanding Volunteer of the Year in 2008. She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered in the gift shop.

Pat was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fairfax where she served as a Deacon and was a member of the Evening Circle and Nite Owls.

Pat’s family and friends were very special to her. She enjoyed all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s activities and having them in her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim in 1997, brother J.L., great grandson Murphy Hurst, and sisters and brothers-in-law. She is survived by her children and spouses; Mike (Sandy) of Fairfax, Mark (Debbie) of Fremont Hills, Krys (Bob) Carlock of Fairfax, and Kent (Barb) of Fairfax. Grandchildren and great grandchildren; Warrant Officer Tyler (Laura) Fisher, USMC and sons Mikey and Luke, Holly Ridge, NC., Trey Fisher, Fort Payne, AL, Mallory Fisher and son Ryker, Smithville, MO, Trevyor (Kortney) Fisher and daughters Kinley, Blakely, and Landree, Republic, MO, Ashley (Chris) Duneske and sons Graham, Brooks, and Theo, St. Louis, MO, Ben Fisher, Springfield, MO, Bart Carlock, Greeley, CO, Lexi (Stuart) Heck and son Robert and daughter Lucy, Fairfax, Shelby (Brett) Hurst and daughters Wendy and Jo, Fairfax. She is also survived by her aunt, Dorothy Thurnau, Maryville, MO, and sisters-in-law Ruth Noftsger, Berryville, AR, and Phyllis Keeling, Littleton, CO, and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the Fairfax Presbyterian Church in Fairfax. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Monday, June 7, at the Schooler Funeral Home in Fairfax. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fairfax. Memorials may be directed to the Fairfax Presbyterian Church, Community Hospital Auxiliary, or the Fairfax Improvement Foundation.
