Ruth Marie Allen, age 78, Grant City, Missouri, died Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Ruth was born October 4, 1941 in Leon, Iowa. She was the daughter of Charles Ivan and Eva Marie (Cole) Kobbe. A lifelong resident of Grant City, Ruth was a graduate of the Grant City High School, class of 1959.
She was united in marriage to Bobbie Dean Allen, October 11, 1961 at the Grant City United Methodist Church. To this union four children were born, Randy, Rebecca, Roger and Rosemary.
A homemaker Ruth was a wonderful cook. She had worked in food service for both the Gentry County Memorial Hospital, Albany and later the Worth County Convalescent Center. Ruth and her daughter Rosemary also did private catering for many individuals and groups, such as the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and Lions clubs all of Grant City.
Ruth was a very active part of the community while her health permitted. She enjoyed and was always a part of many projects as a volunteer. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Worth County Convalescent Center Auxiliary and the former Cottery Club all of Grant City.
Ruth was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and one an infant grandson, baby Conley.
Survivors include: Husband Bobbie of the home, Grant City, son Randy (Jolinda) Allen, Grant City, daughter Rebecca Allen, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, son Roger (Kim) Allen, Grant City, daughter Rosemary (Gary) Thompson, St. Joseph, Missouri, one brother Ralph Kobbe, Grant City, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the Andrews-Hann Funeral Home, Grant City. The family will receive friends from 10-11AM prior to the services. Burial will be in the Grant City Cemetery, Grant City.
